The two most beautiful, and hardest, Enduro Tests of the season at the recent Scandinavian tour (GP Sweden and GP Finland) offered a spectacle of crazy intensity.
Many riders found conditions tough and lost valuable championship points, while others soldiered on. Certainly, the Swedish and Finnish special tests lent themselves perfectly to the image of the Mika AHOLA "Brave One" Trophy ... where once again the French were at the top of the results sheets.
RENET has not yet said his last word!
After dominating in Sweden with two landslide victories, Christophe NAMBOTIN (F) had more difficulties in Finland (3/11) but remains 29 points ahead of Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F). The KTM rider may become the first recipient of the Mika AHOLA "Brave One" Trophy on the first day at the GP AMV of France.
His rival Pela RENET was the only one able to match his speed in Scandinavia with two wins in Finland after being unable to match Nambotin’s pace at the Swedish Grand Prix with his (5/2) result. Although a few points back from his friend and rival NAMBOTIN, the recent Scandinavian EWC races allowed the official Husaberg rider to widen his advantage over his pursuers: Antoine MEO (F), Cristobal GUERRERO (E) and Juha SALMINEN (SF).
On a ground he knows well, the eight-time World Champion Salminen was never able to fight for the victory with only a second and eighth place in Sweden and a third place at his home race in Heinola, Finland.
Once again disappointing, Ivan CERVANTES (E), David KNIGHT (GB) and Johnny AUBERT (F) will have to fight for the minor trophy places.
Special mention for Marko TARKKALA (SF) who conducted an encouraging Scandinavian tour with a fine fourth place in Enduro 3 on Sunday in Finland.
The Mika AHOLA "Brave One" Trophy was full of intensity and emotion in Scandinavia. Christophe NAMBOTIN, the newly crowned Enduro 3 World Champion, could receive the winner’s belt on the first day of the final in Brignoles on October 20/21. However, Pierre-Alexandre RENET seems to be the only one who can still deprive NAMBOT' of this title with both riders set to give their all to become the first winners of the Mika AHOLA "Brave One" Trophy!
Standing : 1. Christophe NAMBOTIN (F) 198pts ; 2. Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F) 169pts ; 3. Antoine MEO (F) 139pts ; 4. Cristobal GUERRERO (E) 137pts ; 5. Juha SALMINEN (SF) 131pts ; 6. Ivan CERVANTES (E) 82pts ; 7. David KNIGHT (GB) 82pts ; 8. Johnny AUBERT (F) 81pts ; 9. Joakim LJUNGGREN (S) 74pts ; 10. Eero REMES (SF) 70pts.

Pela RENET (F - Husaberg) is the only one who can stop NAMBOTIN!
